This guide is for shoppers who searched "Olaplex review" and want to know whether olaplex.com is a safe place to buy, how its shipping and returns work, and how to avoid counterfeit bottles. It is not a review of the products. We have not tested any product, and we make no claims about what any product does to hair. Store policies change, so read the current terms at checkout.

Quick answer
- Is the store real? Yes. olaplex.com is the brand's own online store, run by Olaplex, Inc. with a Santa Barbara, California address on its privacy page. The domain was registered in 2013.
- Returns: The store allows returns within 60 days of purchase. A $5.00 fee is deducted from US refunds. The returns page does not say whether opened products qualify.
- Shipping: Standard USPS shipping is free over $50. The store says orders usually arrive in 2 to 6 business days in the contiguous US. Some products cannot ship to PO boxes, Alaska or Hawaii.
- Authenticity: The brand says it can only vouch for products from its own site, authorized salons and authorized retailers. It lists a QR code check and warns about unmarked sample bottles.
- Verdict: The store is the brand's own shop, not a fake-store risk. Customer service is the weak point, with Trustpilot at 1.8 out of 5. Buy from olaplex.com or a listed retailer, and avoid marketplace sellers you cannot verify.

Who runs Olaplex
The terms of service say the site is operated by Olaplex, Inc. The privacy page gives the Santa Barbara address. The terms name Delaware law and individual arbitration for disputes. The brand also runs separate country stores; this guide covers the US store.
Ingredients and labels (what the store lists)
We did not review ingredient lists or compare formulas. What matters for a buyer is holding a genuine bottle. The brand's anti-diversion page, read 26 October 2026, says:
- Consumer products carry a QR code on the bottom back side. A missing, scratched or tampered code is a reason not to buy it.
- It does not sell in unmarked sample bottles. A handwritten label, or a label unlike those on its site, means the product is not genuine.
- It sells only the consumer products pictured on the page, with no other packaging.
- It cannot guarantee quality, safety or authenticity for anything bought outside authorized sources. A form lets you report unauthorized sales.
Compare your bottle with the pictures on the brand's page before you use it.
Opened-product return rules
The returns page says you may return a purchase within 60 days if you are not satisfied. It does not separate opened from unopened items, and it does not say whether partly used bottles qualify. We found no rule either way, so treat this as unconfirmed. Email customer service before you open a product you are unsure about, and keep the reply.
For US orders, the portal link is in your shipping email (olaplex.com/apps/returns). Print the prepaid label, or take a digital code to a USPS location. Orders shipped outside the US go back by ground shipment to a Pennsylvania address on the page. Purchases made outside olaplex.com go back to the seller.
Shipping and delivery
The shipping page lists these terms (read 26 October 2026):
- Standard: USPS, free over $50, listed as 1 to 4 business days.
- Express: UPS, same 1 to 4 days listed. Processing takes 1 to 2 business days either way.
- Overall: Orders usually arrive in 2 to 6 business days in the contiguous US.
- Restrictions: A dry shampoo, a shine oil mist, the fragrance mists and a hairspray cannot ship to PO boxes, Alaska, Hawaii, territories or military addresses, or go express.
- International: Cost shows at checkout; duties may apply outside the matching country store.
Returns and refunds
The 60-day clock starts at purchase. Start in the portal, print the label, and expect the $5.00 fee to come off your US refund. The page says returns are usually processed in 10 to 14 business days, then the refund takes 5 to 7 days. The returns page shows a revision date of 13 May 2022, and the store's refund policy page repeats the same text. We found no exchange policy.
What shoppers say
- Trustpilot: 1.8 out of 5 from 577 reviews, 71% one-star and 19% five-star; newest visible review 18 October 2026. Trustpilot says the company has not replied to negative reviews. We read only the first page.
- Complaints: Late or misdelivered packages, unanswered emails and chats, refused refunds, and free-gift offers that did not arrive. One reviewer says a third-party seller never sent the product. Some reviews are about product results; we do not judge those.
- Praise: Some reviewers say they bought from legitimate suppliers without trouble, and a few praise quick help.
- SmartCustomer: no reviews listed.
These are unverified customer opinions.
Verdict
olaplex.com is the brand's own store, with a long-registered domain, a named company and a clear 60-day return policy. The main risks are slow customer service, the $5 fee and counterfeit bottles bought elsewhere. For authenticity, order from the brand's site or a listed retailer and run the QR check on arrival. We have not tested any product.
Checklist before you order
- Type olaplex.com yourself and check the address bar.
- Check the stockist list on the brand's anti-diversion page before using another seller.
- Avoid unknown marketplace sellers and unusually cheap listings.
- Check item restrictions if you use a PO box or live outside the contiguous US.
- Count the $5.00 return fee and the 6-unit limit.
- Save your order email; it holds the returns link.
- On arrival, check the QR code and compare the bottle with the brand's pictures.
- Pay with a card or wallet that offers dispute rights.
What we could not confirm
- The price of UPS express shipping.
- Whether opened or partly used products are accepted for return.
- Which payment cards are accepted.
- Whether the store runs subscriptions: a "Subscription" item appears in its menu, but we did not read that page.
- BBB rating and Reddit discussion.
- Which listed retailers are authorized in practice. The page groups them by country and shows Amazon under US online; we have not verified any individual seller.
