This guide is for Australian shoppers weighing up linen bedding from I Love Linen. It covers what the store says about fabric, sizes, delivery and returns, and what review sites show. It is not a review of the products, and we have not tested any product. Policies change, so check the current pages before you pay.

Quick answer

  • Real, small Australian business: its own pages give a Queensland returns address, an email and a live chat line, and say it was founded in 2012.
  • Returns are tight for bedding: 30 days, but only unopened items, you pay the postage, and pillows cannot be returned.
  • Strict delivery rules: every parcel needs a signature.
  • Reviews split: ProductReview.com.au is positive overall, while Trustpilot has only three reviews, all negative.
  • Verdict: appears legitimate, with reasonable written terms. Read the returns rules carefully, because several of the store's own pages disagree on details.

Who runs I Love Linen

The story page says the brand was founded in 2012, is independent and self-funded, and uses flax grown in France. We could not find the legal company name or ABN on the pages we read, so we cannot say who the contracting company is.

Fabric, care and sizing (what the store states)

The store says its linen is stonewashed so it is soft from the first use, and that flax is a natural fibre, so colour can vary by up to 6 percent between batches. The size guide also says measurements can vary by up to 6 percent because pieces are handmade.

Care instructions on the store's care page (read 26 Oct 2026):

  • Gentle cycle, cold or warm, with similar colours, using a gentle liquid detergent.
  • No bleach or dry cleaning.
  • Line dry in shade if you can; gentle warm tumble drying is described as acceptable.
  • Hand wash fitted sheets if you want them to last longer.

Sizes are given in centimetres. For example, a queen fitted sheet is listed at 152 by 203 cm with depth options of 30, 40 or 50 cm, and a queen flat sheet at 255 by 260 cm. The store suggests at least 4 cm of fabric to tuck under, so a mattress deeper than 26 cm should take the 40 cm depth. Free swatches are offered for domestic orders and can take up to 10 business days.

Shipping and delivery

From the shipping page (read 26 Oct 2026):

  • Australia Post for domestic parcels. Free standard shipping at $75 or more for the mainland and Tasmania, otherwise $9.95.
  • Orders placed from 12pm Friday or on the weekend ship the following week.
  • Every parcel needs a signature. The store will not ship to parcel lockers.
  • If you request a safe drop, the store says it is not liable if the parcel goes missing.
  • Pre-orders: the whole order is held until the pre-order item arrives.
  • Missing parcels: you start a trace with Australia Post, and the store waits for the outcome, which it says can take 5 to 10 business days.

The shipping page still carried a Christmas 2025 cutoff notice, so some text may be out of date.

International: the page lists the UK, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore, via DHL Express, with duties and taxes paid by the buyer. It says it does not ship to the US because of tariffs, yet the site footer offers a United States (USD) option. We could not reconcile that.

Returns and refunds

From the returns page (read 26 Oct 2026):

  • Returns within 30 days of receiving goods, for store credit or a refund.
  • You pay postage; use tracking, as the store is not liable for lost returns.
  • Bedding must be unopened. The store treats an item as opened if it is out of its folded state, with ribbon and tags removed, and asks you not to lay it on the bed to check colours.
  • Pillows cannot be returned. Quilts and mattress toppers only if unopened in vacuum-sealed packaging.
  • Clothing must be unworn and unwashed with tags. Eye masks cannot be returned.
  • The store does not hold replacement stock while your return is in transit.

Faults and the 365-day guarantee

The terms describe a 365-day guarantee: if a genuine production defect is found, the store replaces or refunds the affected item. It excludes change of mind and damage from use or washing. On how long you have to report a fault, the store's pages disagree: the shipping page says within two weeks, and the separate refund policy page says within 30 days. The guarantee describes 365 days.

Compared with Australian Consumer Law

The consumerlaw.gov.au page (read 26 Oct 2026) says goods must work properly, do what they should and match their description, and that for faulty or not-as-described goods you may be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement depending on the problem. It sets no two-week limit, so ask the store if you find a fault after that. We could not read the ACCC pages, so we cannot say whether stores must take back change-of-mind returns. The page we read does not say they must, so the 30-day return looks like the store's own policy, with its own conditions.

What shoppers say

  • ProductReview.com.au: 4.4 out of 5 from 347 reviews, about 86 percent positive (read 26 Oct 2026). Dates shown are mostly relative. Reviewers praise softness, colours and delivery. Complaints include thinning or holes after about a year, fading, lint, colour mismatches and slow customer service. Many positive reviews are marked as incentivised.
  • Trustpilot: 2.8 out of 5 from three reviews, all one or two stars, dated 4 September 2026, 19 June 2026 and 21 May 2025 (read 26 Oct 2026). Themes were unanswered emails, a delivery problem and wear within a year. Three reviews is too few to judge.

These are customer opinions.

Verdict

I Love Linen appears to be a genuine small Australian seller with a real address, written terms and a long review record on ProductReview. The cautions are the strict bedding return rules, buyer-paid return postage, and some contradictions between the store's own pages. Durability is the most repeated complaint in both review sources.

Checklist before you order

  1. Measure mattress height and choose the fitted sheet depth with 4 cm or more to spare.
  2. Request a swatch first if colour matters.
  3. Decide on the colour before opening the bedding; opened items are not returned.
  4. Avoid pillows unless you are sure, as they cannot be returned.
  5. Make sure someone can sign for the parcel; lockers are not used.
  6. Follow the care page from the first wash.
  7. Report any fault quickly in writing, with photos.
  8. Keep proof of postage on any return.

What we could not confirm

  • The legal company name and ABN.
  • Domain registration date (the .com.au registry lookup returned nothing usable).
  • ACCC consumer guarantees pages, which were blocked.
  • Reddit, Google and Sitejabber reviews.
  • Whether sale items can be returned: the refund policy page says no, the returns page did not mention it.
  • The fault-reporting window: two weeks on one page, 30 days on another.
