Quick answer

  • Trial and returns: the store's pages describe a 50-night return window, but one policy page still says 7 nights plus returns up to 30 nights. The numbers conflict (see Returns).
  • Return shipping: the returns page says return shipping is covered with a prepaid label.
  • Shipping: free in the continental US; orders ship the next business day, Monday to Friday, per the store's help center.
  • Payment catch: the store says the At Home Trial does not apply to orders paid with Shop Pay, Apple Pay or PayPal (Google Pay also appears in one place).
  • Verdict: a real, active brand with a 4.2 Trustpilot rating, but also complaints about delayed shipments, slow support and refund problems. Buy with a card, keep records, and confirm the return window in writing.

Who runs Buffy

Buffy sells bedding online: comforters, duvet covers, sheets, pillows and throws. Its privacy policy gives a New York City address, and it names Authorize.net and Nuvei as payment processors. We could not look up the domain's age, because the .co registry data we reached did not return a creation date. We did not find the names of the owners on the pages we read. The store also publishes a mission page with lab results for its Breeze fabric. Those are the store's own claims, and we have not verified them.

Fill, fabric and care (as the store states them)

The product page for the Cloud Comforter says it uses a eucalyptus lyocell shell, 700 fill power equivalent and 300 gsm fill weight. The help center says the fill is recycled polyester, certified to the GRS standard, and that Buffy uses no down or animal products. It says its eucalyptus fabric is lyocell and is not organic certified.

Care differs by product, so check before you buy:

  • All-season Cloud Comforter: machine washable per the help center. Large commercial washers are recommended, and a duvet cover reduces how often you wash it.
  • Winter Weight Cloud Comforter: dry clean only.
  • Breeze Comforter: not designed for a washing machine; spot clean or dry clean.
  • Sheets and duvet covers: machine wash cool, tumble dry low.

The store also says its sheets and duvet covers should be washed before first use. Trustpilot reviewers mention fabric wear on sheets within months, fiber shedding and one fitted sheet wearing through. These are customer opinions.

Shipping and delivery

The help center says shipping is free in the continental US by USPS, UPS, First Mile, OnTrac or FedEx. Orders ship the next business day, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, and you get a tracking email within one to two business days. P.O. box orders go by USPS and can take up to 10 business days. Canada is supported with a shipping charge, customer-paid duties and taxes, and up to two weeks for delivery. Nowhere else is served. Original shipping fees on international returns are not refunded.

Some Trustpilot reviewers report late, lost or never-delivered orders. The company's replies there say it will investigate and issue refunds in some cases.

Returns and refunds

The At Home Trial works this way, per the store: when you order, a temporary hold appears on your card, and the charge posts when the trial ends. If you decide not to keep the item, you email hello@buffy.co. The returns page says there is a 50-night risk-free return window starting on delivery day, with a prepaid label and a refund processed 3 to 5 business days after the item arrives.

Conflicts between the store's own pages.

  • The refund policy page says the trial lasts 7 nights, with returns accepted up to 30 nights after purchase.
  • The returns page says 50 nights from delivery. The help center says 50 days from ordering, and elsewhere says the trial ends 8 days after you order.
  • The refund policy page says to email hello@buffy.co to start a return, Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm Eastern. The help center says refunds come 7 to 10 business days after receipt; the returns page says 3 to 5 days to process.
  • Phone: the help center lists +1 833 698 5431, the contact page offers texting 1-833-757-1080.

The refund policy page warns that if you start a return near the end of the trial, your card may be charged even while the item is on its way back, and that you will be fully refunded once it arrives. Final Sale items cannot be returned or exchanged. Gift recipients get store credit only. Defects, damage by animals or children, stains, tears and burns are excluded from coverage on the refund page.

What shoppers say

Trustpilot (read 26 October 2026) shows 4.2 of 5 from 294 reviews, 59% five-star and 28% one-star, with about 181 posted in the last 12 months. Buffy replies to most negative reviews, per Trustpilot.

Praise focuses on softness, light weight, breathability for hot sleepers and an easy website. Complaints cover delayed or lost shipments, slow or hard-to-reach support, double charges, refund and cancellation problems, wear on sheets, and disputes over whether damage falls under a one-year warranty. Some replies and reviews contradict each other, for example on whether single fitted sheets are sold. Product pages on buffy.co also show on-site customer reviews, which a store can curate, so weigh them accordingly. We found no BBB, Reddit or Sitejabber results.

Verdict

Buffy looks like a real, established brand with a mostly positive public rating and a generous written return window. The weak spots are consistency and service: its own pages give different trial lengths and refund timings, and a minority of buyers report shipping and refund trouble. Use a card that gives you dispute rights, avoid wallets the trial excludes if you want the hold-only trial, and get the return window confirmed in an email.

Checklist before you order

  1. Screenshot the return policy and trial wording on the day you order.
  2. Pay by credit card rather than Shop Pay, Apple Pay or PayPal if you want the trial hold instead of an immediate charge.
  3. Note your delivery date and set a reminder before night 50.
  4. Check the care rules for your product (the winter weight is dry clean only).
  5. Never buy from the Final Sale collection unless you are sure; it cannot be returned.
  6. Keep tracking emails and your order number.
  7. Check that the charge posted once only; reviewers report double charges.
  8. Start any return by email and keep the reply.

What we could not confirm

  • The domain's age and the owners' names.
  • Which return window (7/30 nights or 50 nights) is current.
  • Warranty terms. A one-year warranty appears only in reviews.
  • Shipping transit times beyond "next business day" dispatch; we could not read the Common Shipping Times article.
  • BBB, Reddit and Sitejabber reports.
  • Whether the help center's pending-hold description still matches checkout.
