This guide is for US shoppers who are thinking about ordering a rug from Boutique Rugs (boutiquerugs.com) and want to know how shipping, sizing and returns work before paying. It is not a review of the rugs themselves: we have not tested any product. We read the store's own policy pages and checked outside review sites. Policies change.

Quick answer

  • It looks like a real, established business. The domain dates from 2006, the store lists a Georgia address and phone, and the BBB lists a "Boutique Rugs, LLC" in Calhoun, Georgia.
  • Shipping is free in the lower 48 states. Smaller rugs go by FedEx. Rugs 10x14 feet and larger go by freight and take longer.
  • Returns last 60 days but are not free by default. Return shipping is part of the return, and some items are final sale.
  • Colour, size and thickness are the common complaints. The store says size can differ by up to 4 percent.
  • Verdict: Legit by the evidence we found, with a mostly positive Trustpilot score. The return policy is the main risk, so read it first.

Who runs Boutique Rugs

The About page says Boutique Rugs is a direct-to-consumer rug and decor store with more than 15 years in the rug business and a US headquarters in Calhoun, Georgia. The BBB lists "Boutique Rugs, LLC" at 560 Marine Drive SE, Calhoun, with a business start date of April 2006. That matches the returns address on the Contact page, which also lists a separate headquarters address with a suite number in Atlanta. The two pages do not describe the Atlanta address the same way. Domain records show boutiquerugs.com was registered on 20 July 2006.

Sizing and fit

Small size differences matter with rugs. The store says:

  • Sizes can vary. Length and width may differ by up to 4 percent from the listed size because of manufacturing and rolling, and this is not treated as a defect. Fringe is not counted in the listed size.
  • Photos use a 5x7 rug. Default room photos show 5x7 foot rugs, so other sizes will look different in your room. Product pages also have customer photos.
  • Colour can vary. The store says screen settings and, in some cases, the pattern and colour itself can differ.
  • Dining rugs. The FAQ suggests adding 36 to 48 inches to the table size in each direction, so chairs stay on the rug.
  • Samples. Most rugs come in a sample size that may show only part of a pattern. The sample price is refunded as a store gift card after shipment, with conditions.
  • Grip. The FAQ says none of its rugs have non-slip backing and recommends a separate rug pad.

Shipping and delivery

The Shipping page says shipping is free within the contiguous United States. International orders do not get free shipping, and the customer pays international costs. The store says most items ship within 24 hours from Calhoun, Georgia, usually by FedEx, sometimes UPS.

Rugs 10x14 feet and larger, and orders with oversized items, are delivered by freight companies. The page says these take longer than the usual one to five days.

Expedited shipping costs extra for the contiguous US; rugs of 10x14 and over are not eligible.

The Shipping page sets a short reporting deadline. If a package is not reported missing within 5 days of tracking showing delivery, it is not eligible for a refund or replacement. Report wrong, damaged or defective items right away with the order number, photos and a photo of the back label. Per the FAQ you can cancel online for one hour after ordering. A wrongly entered address is not refundable.

Returns and refunds

The Returns page and the Refund policy page (last updated 1 November 2024) give a 60-day window from delivery.

  • Return shipping is part of the return. The cost depends on the product. The page also says returns are free if you choose a gift card refund. Ask support to confirm the exact cost before you start.
  • Final sale items. Custom rugs, sample rugs, clearance items, cleaning products, rug tapes and corner rug pads.
  • Brand exclusions. Products with Four Hands, Feizy, Safavieh, Karastan, Rizzy, Dalyn or Nourison in the name cannot be returned.
  • Furniture. Installed or assembled furniture cannot be returned. A change-of-mind return has a 25 percent restocking fee, and return shipping is deducted.
  • Where it does not apply. Alaska, Hawaii, US territories and international orders.
  • Condition and packing. The item must be new and sellable, with no stains or pet hair. Roll the rug tightly from the short side, or fold it back into the original box, with its plastic wrap. Wrong packing can add charges. One label is needed per item.
  • Exchanges. There is no direct exchange. You place a new order and return the unwanted item.

A large rug can cost real money to send back, and some brands cannot be returned at all.

What shoppers say

Trustpilot (read 26 October 2026): 4.5 out of 5 from 1,056 reviews, with 278 in the previous 12 months. About 72 percent are 5-star and 16 percent are 1-star. Trustpilot shows the company replies to most negative reviews, typically within a week, and notes the company invites customers to leave reviews, which can skew ratings.

Happy customers mention rugs that matched the description, a soft feel, fast shipping and helpful support. Unhappy customers mention colour or size that differed from the website, rugs arriving folded, delays on split orders, thin material, odours, shedding and a restrictive return policy. These are customer opinions, not our findings.

BBB (read 26 October 2026): Rating A-, not accredited, 13 complaints in the last 3 years and 9 customer reviews. Recent reviews mention pricing compared with a stated discount and a rug that pilled within days. We did not find Reddit threads about the store.

Verdict

Boutique Rugs looks like a genuine, long-running online rug seller with a physical address, a phone line, a 20-year-old domain and a mostly positive Trustpilot score. The risks are the ones common to rugs bought online: colour that looks different in your room, size tolerance, thin or shedding material, and expensive returns for big rugs. The return rules, including brand exclusions and packing requirements, are stricter than the "60 days" headline suggests. If you read them first, it is a reasonable store to consider.

Checklist before you order

  1. Measure the floor and tape out the rug size.
  2. Remember sizes can vary by up to 4 percent and fringe is not counted.
  3. Order a sample if colour or texture matters.
  4. Check the product name for excluded brands and for clearance or custom labels before relying on the 60-day return.
  5. For rugs 10x14 or larger, ask how freight delivery works.
  6. Confirm the return shipping cost for your size in writing.
  7. On delivery day, inspect the rug and photograph the back label. Report problems within 5 days.
  8. Pay by card or PayPal to keep dispute options.

What we could not confirm

  • The legal company name on the Terms of service page did not display when we read it, so we relied on the BBB listing.
  • Trustpilot was read through a summary tool, so we could not see individual dated reviews.
  • Whether any warranty applies to rugs. We saw warranties and insurance items mentioned only in promotion notes.
  • The exact return shipping cost for a given rug size.
  • Any Reddit discussion. Our search found none.
  • BBB complaint outcomes, and complaints in the last 12 months.
