Greenworks Tools Review: Warranty, Shipping, Returns and What to Check Before You Order

This guide is for shoppers considering a purchase from greenworkstools.com, the direct online store of the cordless lawn and garden brand Greenworks. It covers the store's own shipping, return and warranty rules and what outside review sites say. It is not a review of the products. We have not tested any tool. The terms of service name Greenworks North America, LLC, licensee of the Greenworks Tools brand, as the operator. The mailing address is a P.O. Box in Mooresville, North Carolina, and the privacy policy lists an office at 500 S Main St in Mooresville. The terms send disputes to binding arbitration in Charlotte, North Carolina. The FAQ says tools are also sold at stores such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Lowe's and Costco, so you can buy elsewhere and use that retailer's return rules instead.

Warranty and support

The warranty page (read 26 October 2026) says:

• Greenworks products and batteries: three years against defects under normal use, from shipping or purchase date, and 90 days for commercial use.
• Greenworks Pro products and batteries: four years, 90 days commercial.
• Brushless AC pressure washers (Pro): three years on the tool and ten on the brushless motor.
• Renewed products: 90 days, with all sales final.

Conditions apply. Coverage requires the product to be built for sale and registered in the US, used mainly in the US or Canada, and kept as the owner's manual describes. Proof of purchase and registration are required. Greenworks decides whether to repair, replace or refund. The company says it pays return shipping for accepted warranty returns after you obtain a Return Authorization by phone. Normal wear, misuse and routine maintenance are excluded.

Note a mild tension: the same page says transport to and from an authorized service provider is the customer's cost. Ask which route applies to your claim before you ship anything.

Shipping and delivery

From the shipping policy (read 26 October 2026):

• Standard delivery aims at 3-5 business days; riding mowers 5-7. Holiday delays are possible.
• No transit guarantees over 150 lbs; freight deliveries need someone home for the appointment.
• Free shipping over $100, with exclusions that include riding mowers, dual-stage snow blowers and some other products, and extra charges for some heavy items.
• Alaska is $399 and Hawaii $499 for affected items; riding mowers do not ship there.
• No shipping outside the continental US except limited Alaska and Hawaii service.
• Best Buy local pickup is offered for select products. Returns there are accepted within 30 days, and refunds take 7-10 business days.

Returns and refunds

From the return policy (read 26 October 2026):

1. Start a request in the online return portal. Items must reach the warehouse within 30 days of arrival.
2. Items must be new, unused and in original packaging with every accessory, manual and part. Combo kits must come back complete.
3. For damaged items, approval takes 3-5 days and a label is provided.
4. For other reasons (bought by mistake, inaccurate description, arrived too late, no longer needed), shipping costs are deducted from the refund.
5. Returns are inspected for 7-10 business days, and the store may refuse a return after inspection.

Final sale: riding mowers, e-bikes, go-karts, dual-stage snow blowers, Renewed and Open Box items, and sales to Alaska and Hawaii.

Cancellation: orders can be cancelled within 30 minutes of being placed.

Conflicts between the store's own pages:

• Refund timing: one FAQ says 7-10 days; another section says up to three weeks after you ship the parcel.
• Guest cancellations: the return policy says guests can cancel through the order helper, while the FAQ says guest orders cannot be cancelled.

On Trustpilot (read 26 October 2026) Greenworks has 1.7 out of 5 from 1,526 reviews, 201 in the last 12 months. 75% are one star and 14% are five stars. The company has replied to about 1% of negative reviews. Customer opinions repeat a few themes:

• Support: slow replies, unanswered emails and long phone holds. A minority describe quick replacements.
• Warranty: reviewers say claims need extensive proof such as video, and some report batteries failing soon after the warranty ended.
• Orders: some say the wrong item, damaged goods or missing parts arrived; one mentions a European plug.
• Returns: some say large items could not be returned or a retailer could not swap a unit.

SmartCustomer has one review, 2.0 out of 5, from November 2022, about a cancellation dispute. BBB lists a B rating and no accreditation, but we could not see complaint counts. These are customer opinions and we cannot verify them.

Verdict

Greenworks Tools is a real manufacturer with a written warranty and clear contact details. But the outside evidence is consistently negative on service, and return rules leave you paying shipping on change-of-mind returns. If you buy, keep proof of purchase, register the tool and photograph the unit on delivery.
