This guide is for US shoppers considering a chair or other furniture from Chairus (chairus.com). It covers how shipping, returns, damage claims and the warranty work, based on the store's own pages. It is not a review of the products. We have not tested any product. Policies change, so read the current pages before you pay.

Quick answer

  • What it is: a Shopify store that sells chairs plus tables, sofas, beds, storage, outdoor furniture and a home office range. Its menu lists many sub-brands, so it works like a marketplace of several labels. It is not only an office or gaming chair seller.
  • Shipping: free to the lower 48 states per its shipping pages, but the two versions of those pages give different delivery times.
  • Returns: 30 days from delivery, but a change-of-mind return costs return shipping plus a 10% restocking fee.
  • Reviews: Trustpilot showed 4.3 from 464 reviews on 26 October 2026, with most praise for looks and speed and complaints about missing hardware, transit damage and slow returns.
  • Verdict: it looks like a real, operating store with a published address, phone number and a one-year warranty. The costs of changing your mind are high, and the delivery times are inconsistent, so measure carefully and open the boxes soon.

Who runs Chairus

The site says CHAIRUS operates it on Shopify. The About page starts its story in 2014. The footer gives an address at 1521 E Francis St, Ontario, CA, and a US phone number. The Terms name only "CHAIRUS" with an email address, no legal entity, and say Hong Kong law governs, which matters if you ever need to take a dispute further.

The Terms contain two unfilled template placeholders where links to the refund and privacy policies should be. That is sloppy editing, not proof of a problem. The domain was registered in 2012. The About page lists FSC, UL, ISO and REACH certifications; these are the store's statements, and we did not see which products they apply to.

Assembly and damage

Most items arrive in boxes you assemble. The Warranty page says failing to follow assembly instructions voids the warranty. The returns page advises inspecting an item before assembly, because assembled items may carry an extra processing fee of about 5%.

For damage or a defect, photograph the product, packaging and shipping label, keep the packaging, and email care@chairus.com with your order number. The Warranty page sets a 14-day limit to report a delivered product that is not perfect, and 2 weeks for in-transit damage. The Refund policy says the fix may be replacement parts, a replacement, an exchange or a refund.

The warranty excludes normal wear, misuse, harsh cleaners, extreme conditions, excess weight, natural wood variation and packages lost or stolen after delivery.

Practical advice: check for all hardware on delivery day. Recent reviews mention missing screws.

Shipping and delivery

The store says shipping is free to the 48 contiguous states and prices include taxes and fees. A Tax Policy page says sales tax is calculated at checkout, which looks inconsistent. Check your cart total.

Delivery time is the sum of processing (usually 1 to 2 business days, sometimes 3 to 5) and transit. Here is a conflict between the store's own pages:

  • The Shipping page says transit takes 1 to 7 business days and names UPS, FedEx and Maersk.
  • The Shipping policy page says 1 to 3 business days and names UPS, FedEx and DHL.

Both warn that stock transfers can take longer, and pre-sale items follow the date on the product page. Plan for the longer figure.

Other rules: no P.O. boxes or military addresses; extra fees or limits may apply for Alaska, Hawaii and US territories; you cannot choose the carrier; changing the address after dispatch is at your own risk and expense.

Returns and refunds

You must contact the store within 30 calendar days of delivery and get return instructions before sending anything back. The item must be unused, clean, complete with packaging, parts and manuals, and preferably unassembled.

The costs depend on the reason:

  • Change of mind: you pay the actual return shipping and a 10% restocking fee, both deducted from the refund. On a large item, return freight may be substantial, so ask for a quote before you agree.
  • Verified defect, damage or wrong item: the store says it will cover return shipping and no standard restocking fee applies, after it reviews your photos or videos.

Not returnable under the standard rules: gift cards, clearance, final-sale and resale items, compressed products, and used items. Before shipment you can cancel for a full refund. After shipment, interception costs a $20 fee plus return freight and 10% restocking. Refusing a delivery without contacting the store first can leave you with no refund if the product is lost or destroyed.

Pages we visited: /pages/returns and the FAQ returned "not found", though the footer links to Returns and Refunds. We found no stated refund timing.

What shoppers say

On Trustpilot (read 26 October 2026) Chairus showed a TrustScore of 4.3 from 464 reviews, 457 of them in the past 12 months, with 76% five-star and 11% one-star. The page also displayed a star graphic of 4.5, so the two figures did not match. The company says it replies to all negative reviews, usually within 48 hours.

Happy reviewers mention design, comfort, sturdiness and quick delivery (for example 3 October 2026). Critical reviews mention missing hardware and misaligned holes (6 October 2026), a box damaged in transit with broken chairs (26 May 2026), and slow or unclear return handling (20 September and 4 October 2026). These are customer opinions; see our guide on fake reviews. We found no BBB, Sitejabber or Reddit pages about the store.

Verdict

Chairus looks like a functioning store with a real address, phone line, warranty and many recent reviews, mostly positive. Nothing we read suggests a scam. The risks are ordinary furniture risks: costly return freight, a 10% fee for changing your mind, a short window to report faults, and pages that disagree on delivery time.

Checklist before you order

  1. Measure your space and the doorways, and compare with the product page dimensions.
  2. Screenshot the product page, shipping page and refund policy on the day you buy.
  3. Note the delivery estimate at checkout and plan for the longer range.
  4. Check your total for sales tax, since pages differ on whether tax is included.
  5. Open and inspect every box within days, photographing damage before you discard packaging.
  6. Count parts against the manual before assembling, because assembly can add fees or void the warranty.
  7. Ask support in writing for the return freight cost before you agree to a change-of-mind return.
  8. Pay by card or PayPal so you keep dispute rights.

What we could not confirm

  • How many days refunds take.
  • Which of the two shipping pages is current.
  • The legal entity behind CHAIRUS and who the sub-brands' manufacturers are.
  • Whether the quality certifications on the About page apply to any given product.
  • BBB, Sitejabber or Reddit feedback, none of which we found.
  • Pages we could not read: /pages/returns and /pages/faq returned "not found"; Trustpilot blocked direct page download, so figures come from a text extraction of the page.
  • Whether products have specific chair weight ratings or safety tests beyond what each product page shows.
