This guide is for shoppers considering a cashmere sweater, cardigan or travel wrap from White + Warren (whiteandwarren.com) who want to know how its returns, final-sale rules and shipping work first. Quick answer
- Established brand: the store says it has made cashmere knitwear since 1997, and the domain was registered in May 1999.
- Returns are short and not free: 14 days from delivery, with a $12 fee taken from refunds. Exchanges and store credit carry no fee.
- Final sale and exchange-only items: final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged; "exchange only" items cannot be refunded.
- Shipping: free over $325, otherwise $14 by FedEx Ground; international returns are the buyer's cost.
- Verdict: a real, long-running company, but a strict returns policy and a small, poor Trustpilot sample mean you should be sure of size and style before buying.

Who runs White + Warren
The terms of use, last updated 5 September 2025, name "A Fine Gauge, Inc." doing business as White & Warren, with a mailing address at 80 W 40th Street, New York. The About page says the brand has been known for cashmere since 1997 and is designed in New York. Domain registration data (RDAP) shows whiteandwarren.com was registered on 6 May 1999. A BBB search result shows a profile at the same street address with an A+ rating and no accreditation; it did not show a complaint count, and it did not name A Fine Gauge, so we cannot confirm it is the same entity.
The terms say New York law applies and most disputes go to arbitration.
Sizing and fit
Product pages carry women's and men's size charts, an international conversion chart and a "find your size" tool, per the one product page we read. On that page (a brushed cashmere-blend quarter-zip) sizes XS to L were offered, the fit was described as relaxed and a size small was 23 in long. No model measurements were shown. The store's collection filter listed only a relaxed fit.
Fibre content varies by item. The product page we read stated 70% wool and 30% cashmere, and the item was labelled a cashmere blend, while the About page describes Mongolian cashmere. Read the composition on each product page. The product page said hand wash cold or dry clean; the customer service page says pilling is normal for natural fibres. Because returns must be unworn and unwashed, wash nothing you may send back.
Shipping and delivery
The FAQ says the store ships to all 50 US states, Monday to Friday, with same-day dispatch for orders before 1pm Eastern, and that fulfilment can take 1-5 business days. Domestic options by FedEx are Ground Economy (free over $325, $14 below), 2nd Day Air ($30) and Standard Overnight ($35). The shipping policy page says processing usually takes 24 to 48 hours.
Conflict between pages: the FAQ says Ground Economy delivers within 7 business days, while the shipping policy says about 4 business days to West Coast states and 7 to East Coast states. Delivery dates are calculated at checkout and the shipping policy says final dates come from FedEx tracking. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Outside the US, orders go by FedEx, and duties, taxes and shipping are charged at checkout. International exchanges are not offered. You may start a return by email, but the store says it does not cover return shipping for orders shipped abroad and that duties, taxes and shipping are not refunded.
Returns and refunds
The refund policy page and the customer service FAQ agree on the core terms: unworn, unwashed items bought on the website can be exchanged or refunded if returned within 14 days of delivery, and a $12 fee applies to refunds. Exchanges or store credit have no fee, and an item can be exchanged only once. You start a return at the returns portal using the email on the order and get a FedEx label by email. Refunds, minus the fee, arrive about 5-7 business days after the parcel is received.
No returns or exchanges for: final sale items, items bought from other retailers, gift cards and gifts with purchase, and duties, taxes and shipping on international orders. The store may charge an increased return fee on some orders, after agreeing it with the customer.
Price adjustments: the FAQ says that within 7 days of your order, if an item is marked down, you can get a one-time adjustment while it is still in stock. A Trustpilot reviewer says an adjustment made the whole order non-returnable; we could not confirm this against the store's pages, so ask in writing before requesting one.
What shoppers say
Trustpilot (read 26 Oct 2026) shows a 2.6 TrustScore from 4 reviews, all one star, 3 of them in the past 12 months, latest 2 September 2026. The profile is unclaimed and the sample is tiny. Reviewers say a return deadline was strict, an exchange or refund was refused, a refund did not reach the bank, an international customer paid return shipping and duties and the parcel was reported lost, colour names did not match images, and support was hard to reach. One reviewer said a sweater ran small. None of the four praised the service. These are customer opinions we cannot verify, and the Trustpilot page also showed a 2.5 star graphic next to the 2.6 score. We found no widespread scam reports.
Verdict
White + Warren is a long-running New York company with clear written policies, so it is not a fake store. The risk is the policy itself: only 14 days, a $12 fee, no refunds on exchange-only or final sale items, and no international exchanges. If you buy, treat it as a purchase you must be confident in. International buyers should expect to bear costs on any return.
Checklist before you order
- Check whether the item is final sale or exchange only, before paying.
- Read the fibre percentage and compare your measurements with the size chart.
- Count 14 days from delivery, and start the return early.
- Subtract the $12 fee when judging the price of a possible return.
- Keep items unworn and unwashed; try on over clean clothes, indoors.
- If outside the US, work out duties and return costs first.
- Pay by card or PayPal where available, and keep screenshots of the policy.
What we could not confirm
- Which payment methods the checkout accepts beyond Klarna.
- Any warranty; we found none.
- The full text of the returns portal at returns.whiteandwarren.com, which we did not open.
- The correct delivery time (conflict above).
- Reddit or large review-site data; none found. The store's own reviews page was not read.
- Whether the BBB profile belongs to A Fine Gauge, Inc.
