Beyond Polish is a US online shop that sells nail polish, gel polish, dip powders and nail supplies from other brands. This guide is for shoppers who searched "is beyond polish legit" and want the store's own rules and public ratings in one place. It is not a review of the products. We have not tested any product. Policies change, so check the current terms at checkout.

Quick answer

  • Refunds are store credit. Returns of unopened, unused items within 14 days of delivery are refunded as an eGift card, not to your card (store returns page, read 26 Oct 2026).
  • You pay return shipping, and original shipping is not refunded.
  • US only. The store ships within the United States and says it no longer ships internationally.
  • Ratings are mixed to poor. Trustpilot showed 2.7 of 5 from 170 reviews on 26 Oct 2026; 65% were five stars and 27% one star.
  • Verdict: A real, long-running shop (domain registered 2013) with clear policies, but a divided review record on delivery and refunds. Fine for small orders if you accept store credit as the only way back.

Who runs Beyond Polish

The About page says the shop was founded in 2014 and now serves both nail technicians and home users. It describes itself as an authorized retailer that buys from brand distributors and lists brands such as OPI, CND, Gelish, The GelBottle Inc., Apres and DND. These are the store's own statements; we could not check them with the brands. The terms say the shop is governed by California law, and the FAQ says orders ship from a California warehouse. We did not find a legal company name or street address on the pages we read.

Ingredients and labels (what the store lists)

The FAQ says each product page lists ingredient and usage details, and tells shoppers with allergies or sensitivities to read labels and ask a professional if unsure. The store also notes that some items are for professional use and recommends salon application for those. The returns page suggests sticking to shades you already know, since screen colors can differ.

Opened-product return rules

This is the key limit for nail products. The returns page accepts only unused products in original packaging; used products cannot be returned for quality and hygiene reasons. Skincare, hair care and cosmetics are not eligible for return or exchange, and clearance, sale and "Final Sale" items are excluded too. The page does not say whether nail polish counts as cosmetics, so ask before you buy if that matters to you. Returns must be approved first through the store's returns portal. The page says no standard restocking fee is charged, but the store may apply one or give partial credit if an item comes back used or damaged; the terms of service separately mention possible restocking fees.

Shipping and delivery

Orders are not processed on weekends or federal holidays. Most orders leave the California warehouse in 1-2 business days according to the FAQ, then Standard Ground takes 4-8 business days. Hair products ship Ground only. The store says delays can happen during sales periods and that it is not responsible for weather, carrier or holiday disruption. The terms say risk of loss passes to you once the carrier has the package.

Optional shipping protection from Navidium is sold at checkout. With it, lost, stolen or damaged packages get a replacement or refund to the original payment method. Without it, the store says it gives store credit for the product price only.

Returns and refunds

  • Start within 14 days of delivery through the returns portal.
  • Wait for approval; unapproved returns are not accepted.
  • Pay to ship it back by any method you choose.
  • Expect an eGift card, minus shipping, 5-10 business days after inspection.

Conflict to note: the damaged-item section of the returns page says to contact the store within 7 days and find "the best solution", while the FAQ says a replacement or refund will be arranged. The shipping page says unprotected lost orders get store credit. If you want money back to your card in a damage or loss case, ask in writing first.

What shoppers say

Trustpilot (read 26 Oct 2026): 2.7 of 5, 170 reviews, with only 6 in the last 12 months. Reviewers praise packaging, price and some helpful staff. Critics describe orders that never shipped or were slow, wrong or defective items, and surprise that refunds became store credit. Some say a policy change was not clearly communicated; the company's replies say store credit is stated at checkout and in the returns policy. One reviewer reported duplicate items in a mystery set and paying return shipping. A search snippet of an older cached listing showed 3.5 of 5, so ratings differ by when and where you look. Some reviewers question authenticity; the store says it sells genuine brand products. These are customer opinions, not verified findings. Trustpilot also lists an unrelated cleaning company with a similar name; check you are reading the right page.

Verdict

Beyond Polish appears to be a genuine operating shop with a long history. The risks are practical: store credit instead of refunds, shipping at your cost on returns, and a mixed record on delivery and support. If you buy, keep orders modest, pay by credit card, and avoid mystery or sale items you might want to return.

Checklist before you order

  1. Accept that any return becomes store credit, not a card refund.
  2. Check whether the item is sale, clearance or final sale; those cannot be returned.
  3. Do not open or use a product until you are sure you will keep it.
  4. Count 14 days from delivery, and ask for approval before sending anything back.
  5. Decide if you want shipping protection, and read its claim windows.
  6. Photograph damaged items and the box, and write to the store within 7 days.
  7. Pay by credit card so you keep dispute rights.
  8. Save the policy pages on the day you order.

What we could not confirm

  • The company's legal name or street address.
  • Whether polish counts as "cosmetics" under the no-return rule.
  • Any subscription programme; we found none on the pages we read, and Trustpilot did not mention one.
  • The store's claim that it is an authorized retailer, and the counterfeit allegations made by some reviewers.
  • BBB, Sitejabber and Reddit ratings; we found no pages we could read.
  • A warranty policy; none found.
