Quick answer
- Returns: Ekster's support pages give 100 days from delivery to return items in good-as-new condition. In the US, Canada and the UK a flat handling fee comes off the refund.
- Warranty: The banner on the store says "lifetime warranty", but the warranty page says most products carry 2 years, with a lifetime warranty only on two named products.
- Shipping: Dispatch takes 1-2 business days, then 2-6 for standard US delivery. Standard shipping is free over $50.
- Reviews: Trustpilot shows 4.3 from 3,166 reviews. Returns and warranty wording are the main complaints.
- Verdict: A real, established brand with clear policies in most places, but with conflicts between pages that you should settle in writing before a large order.

Who runs Ekster
The terms name the seller as One Source to Market, LLC, which operates as Ekster, with a notice address in New York. The About page says Dutch founders started the brand through a Kickstarter campaign about ten years ago and that it is a B Corporation. We did not verify these statements.
The domain ekster.com shows a registration date of 20 December 1999 in RDAP (read 26 October 2026). That predates the brand's own story, so we do not treat it as a sign of company age. The terms use New York law and binding arbitration through JAMS, with a 30-day opt-out window.
Warranty and support
Ekster's support site (read 26 October 2026) lists several warranty articles:
- Most products: a 2-year warranty on manufacturing defects. Remedies listed are a replacement, spare parts, or a gift card for the order value.
- Cardholder Pro and Wallet Pro: a lifetime warranty with a new product or replaceable parts for manufacturing defects.
- ekster+ members: an article titled "Limited Lifetime Warranty" whose text says 24 months. The terms say members may get a lifetime limited warranty.
- Exclusions: lost, stolen or discarded items, normal wear and tear, and damage not caused by a defect.
- Claims: start by emailing support with the order number. The article that explains the steps was not fully readable for us.
This is a place where the pages disagree. The site banner says "lifetime warranty", the warranty page says most items carry 2 years, and the ekster+ article says 24 months under a "lifetime" title. One Trustpilot reviewer says the company cited two years against the banner. Before you buy a specific product, check that product's page and ask support, in writing, which warranty applies to it.
Shipping and delivery
The shipping page (read 26 October 2026) says orders are picked, packed and dispatched within 1-2 business days. Delivery estimates in business days:
- United States: standard 2-6, priority 2-4, express 1-3.
- Canada: the same as the US.
- United Kingdom: standard 2-4, express 1-2.
- Rest of world: standard 10-15.
The support site says shipping is free on standard orders over $50 to the US, UK and EU, and that orders under $50 pay a standard fee. Some bulky items, such as backpacks, carry extra fees that vary by region.
The terms say risk of loss passes to you once Ekster hands the goods to the carrier, and that delivery dates are estimates. Ask support what happens if a parcel is lost. We could not read the customs and lost-parcel answers on the support site. If you order from outside the US, read Customs duties and importing.
Returns and refunds
The returns article (read 26 October 2026) says:
- You have 100 days from delivery to return an item you no longer want, in good-as-new condition with all parts and accessories, ideally in the original packaging.
- Custom-engraved items, free gifts and warranty replacements cannot be returned.
- Visible wear or misuse can block a refund; such items may still get store credit, case by case.
- You can choose an exchange, store credit (the page says it includes a bonus) or a refund to the original payment method.
- US, Canada and UK returns come with a prepaid label, and a handling fee is deducted from a refund: $8.99 for most items, $9.99 for TravelPack items, $14.99 for luggage. No fee applies to store credit or exchanges.
- EU returns use a portal; rest-of-world customers pay shipping to the US warehouse.
- Do not ship until Ekster authorizes the return. Processing takes 5-10 business days after receipt.
The terms differ in places. They say returns are accepted within 100 days of purchase, not delivery, and that the refund is the purchase price minus the original shipping costs. They say orders under $50 get store credit or an exchange rather than a refund, and put the large-item deduction at $15. The refund article says assessment takes about 5-14 business days after the return shows as delivered. Keep your order confirmation and delivery date. For card options if a refund stalls, see Refunds and chargebacks.
What shoppers say
Trustpilot (read 26 October 2026): 4.3 from 3,166 reviews, with 80% five-star and 13% one-star, and the newest review dated 26 October 2026. The page says the company replies to almost all negative reviews. Praise centers on build quality, warranty replacements and helpful support. Complaints center on slow email-based returns, partial refunds offered to keep an item, broken clips or weak magnets, and some late parcels. These are customer opinions.

Verdict
Ekster looks like a legitimate brand with a named company, published policies and many mostly positive reviews. The concerns are practical: a handling fee comes off refunds, pages contradict each other on warranty length and the return window, and shoppers report slow email-based returns. If you buy, pick a product whose warranty is stated on its own page and screenshot it.
Checklist before you order
- Screenshot the product page and the warranty terms that apply to that exact product.
- Decide whether you will return within 100 days, and note the delivery date.
- Budget for the handling fee ($8.99 for most items) if you might return for a refund.
- For an order under $50, ask support whether a return would be store credit only.
- Check the shipping estimate for your country, and customs costs if outside the US.
- Pay with a card or PayPal for a dispute path.
- Photograph any damage on arrival.
- Do not ship a return until Ekster authorizes it in writing.
What we could not confirm
- Which warranty length applies to each product, because the banner, warranty page, ekster+ article and terms differ.
- Whether the 100-day window starts at delivery or purchase.
- Whether orders under $50 can be refunded or only get store credit.
- Actual refund speed, given 5-10 and 5-14 business day figures.
- Customs rules, carriers and lost-parcel steps; those answers were cut off for us.
- The ekster+ cost and claim email address.
- BBB, SmartCustomer and Reddit feedback. We have not tested any product.
