This guide is for US shoppers considering a faux-fur or faux-leather coat from Apparis (apparis.com) who want to understand shipping, sizing and returns first. It is not a review of the products. We have not tested any product. Policies change, so read the current pages at checkout.

Quick answer

  • Established brand: the site names a company (Apparis, Inc.), gives a support email and hours, and publishes shipping, returns and terms pages.
  • Returns window: 30 days from delivery, with a prepaid label for US orders, but you must ship within 7 days of getting the label.
  • Sale items are the trap: items discounted 25% or more are treated differently from full-price items, and the store's own pages describe this in three different ways.
  • Independent reviews are thin: we found no Trustpilot or BBB page, and only a small number of reviews elsewhere.
  • Verdict: nothing we read suggests a fake store, but we could not find strong independent feedback, so buy full-price items you can return, and read the sale rules closely.

Who runs Apparis

The terms say the website is operated by Apparis, Inc. The about page says the brand launched in 2018 and was founded by a French duo, and that it focuses on faux-fur and other fashion pieces. We did not find a street address on the pages we read. The terms are governed by New York law, and disputes go to courts in New York County, with an arbitration clause also in the terms.

The domain record shows registration in 2012, earlier than the 2018 launch date on the about page. We cannot explain the gap; domains can be bought or transferred. The record also shows an expiry date of 6 November 2026, which is normal for a yearly renewal, and we cannot see whether it renews.

Sizing and fit

The product feed we read lists sizes from XXS to XXL for coats priced from about $260 to $745. We could not find a standalone size guide page. The terms say fit and sizing may vary between brands and between similar products, and that measurements are approximate.

For a coat, compare the product page measurements with a coat you own. Faux-fur pieces are bulky, so think about what you will wear under it. The FAQ says new pieces may shed a little and suggests gently brushing away loose fibres. Free shipping on exchanges for another size helps, but only inside the return rules.

Shipping and delivery

The store's own pages disagree on timing:

  • The shipping page says most orders ship within 2 business days and arrive in 3 to 8 business days.
  • The FAQ says most orders ship within 3 business days and arrive in 3 to 10 business days of shipping.
  • The terms say processing takes 24 to 48 hours, or up to 5 business days from October to January.

Plan on the longer figures in cold-season months. UPS 2nd Day Air costs $89 per the FAQ. For Hawaii and Puerto Rico the FAQ lists $25 under $250 and $45 above. The terms say free shipping is not offered to Hawaii, Alaska or Puerto Rico.

Other conditions: no shipping to PO boxes or APO and FPO addresses, and billing and shipping addresses must match. Standard shipping does not include insurance, and the FAQ says the store is not responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit. Report damage or a missing delivery within 72 hours by email.

Returns and refunds

The core rule is simple: request a return within 30 days of delivery, then ship within 7 days of approval. Items must be unworn, unwashed and in original packaging with tags. The store may reject returns that do not comply and send them back.

Conflicts we found:

  • Sale items. The shipping page says items discounted 25% or more are exchange-only. The returns page says exchange or store credit only. The terms call them final sale and not eligible for a credit card refund. The returns page says items from the Online Sample Sale are final sale.
  • Canada. The returns page and the shipping page say returns are free for Canadian customers. The terms say Canadian customers cover return shipping and duties.

Since this site is US-focused, the US rule is clear: a prepaid label on full-price items.

What shoppers say

  • US-Reviews (page last updated Nov 2024): 9 reviews, February 2022 to April 2024, mostly praising softness and style, with one criticising price and limited colours. The sample is small, with similar phrasing across several entries, and says little about delivery or returns.
  • Trustpilot: we could not load a page for apparis.com. SmartCustomer shows an unclaimed listing with no reviews. We found no BBB profile.
  • Other retailers (per search results, not pages we read in full): Shopbop, Free People and Revolve list Apparis items. Their return terms differ from the brand's own.

A lack of reviews is not a warning on its own, but it means there is little independent evidence about how the store handles problems.

Verdict

Apparis looks like a real, established fashion brand with detailed policies. The main risks are its inconsistent sale-item and timing statements, and the fact that we found little independent customer feedback. For a full-price coat, a prepaid 30-day return is a reasonable safety net. For a discounted coat, assume you may not get a refund.

Checklist before you order

  1. Check the price: is it discounted 25% or more? If so, expect no cash refund.
  2. Compare coat measurements to one you own, and allow for layers.
  3. Add the delivery wait, up to 10 business days after processing, to your timeline.
  4. Confirm the shipping address matches your billing address.
  5. Inspect the package within 72 hours and photograph any damage.
  6. Ship returns within 7 days of the label being issued.
  7. Pay by credit card for dispute rights (see our refunds guide) and keep screenshots of the policies.

What we could not confirm

  • A Trustpilot rating, BBB record or Reddit feedback.
  • A size guide or measurements for coats.
  • Accepted payment methods and the company's street address.
  • Whether the domain renews on 6 November 2026.
  • Which of the conflicting timing and sale-item statements the store applies in practice.
  • Any warranty. We did not find one on the pages we read.
